Reading departure signs in some big airport reminds me of the places I've been

I'm sitting at the gate at SFO waiting to fly to Roanoke via Detroit (flight is both delayed and overbooked). Hopefully, I'll get home around 10pm, be home all day Saturday, then fly back out to SFO Sunday morning. I feel like I'm stuck in a revolving door. I really use to love to fly, but not so much anymore. Guess it has mostly to do with being away from home so much lately, the constant packing and unpacking, etc. Not to mention that on the way to the airport this morning my cellphone fell out of my pocket somewhere along the way. Now I get to go through the hassle of getting a new phone and finding out everyone's numbers again...arghh.

That said, I do love big cities and like having the occasional opportunity to travel to them. The energy is palpable and just really feeds me. Too bad it is prohibitively expensive to raise a family in a major city...maybe in my next life (lord knows I need another life to make up for everything that I've screwed up in this one).

I think that you are doing absolutely fine in this life. I know it is bumpy right now but soon we are going to make it better.

I look forward to being able to sit down and talk with you at some point. Maybe in a week when I stay in DC for a few days.

I can't belive you came all the way from San Fran on Friday to turn around and go back on Sunday. You are a good man.

I think Joel hit the nail the head..."You are a good man." If the rest of the world had your compassion and caring, there wouldn't be a need for anyone to redo their lives.
